anzac biscuits

   today we made anzac biscuits

and here are ideas on it      

 Ingredients
  1. 1 cup rolled oats.   sophia
  2. 1 cup thread coconut. Isla m
  3. 1 cup flour.    Isabella                        
  4. 1 cup sugar.  Tayla


  • Methed

  • Preheat oven to 180°C. Lightly grease a baking tray or line with baking paper.
  • Combine the oats, coconut, flour, and sugar together in a large bowl.
  • Melt the butter and golden syrup together. Dissolve the baking soda in the boiling
  • water and add to the butter mixture. Pour the butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix
  • together.Roll teaspoons into balls and place on the tray, allowing room for them to spread.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes, cooking three tray's (depending at a time.

Sophia said: in my group was Isla , Issy, Tayla , and me. After we added the oats ,  flour , sugar , and
coconut ( dry ingredients )the mixture looked like the most dry porridge in the world and it smelt a bit like
what cookie dough cross donut bread cross  porridge would smell like. After we added the wet ingredients
it felt a bit like a wet crunchy slime ( the texture was just a bit weird and off-putting ). The color looked a
bit like wet sand at the sea. When we got to try them they were heavenly rich crunchy golden biscuits!!!!!.


Tayla said: The wet and dry ingredients were really sticky when we were trying to roll them in to
balls bits of the mixture were going everywhere.  
Isabella said:  when I added the baking powder it bubbled up like a volcano and it smelled really good.
The wet ingredients were Melted  butter And Boiled water and the dry ingredients are
flour,rolled oats,sugar and coconut shavings.I will have to say at the end the ANZAC biscuits where really
good.Our group was Isla Tayla Sophia and me Isabella.


Isla - wet ingredients Butter, boiling water but we added baking soda to the boiling water and then
added that to the butter with golden syrup.
Dry - flour, coconut, sugar, rolled oats
I had in my group was isla, isabella, sophia, tayla

oh the anzac biscuits... anzac biscuits have been around for a long time and the anzacs being made by the australian and new zealand  the anzacs have some woman that would send and make anzac biscuits for them and it was like a snack the word anzac was made official in world war I  and they didn't go stale during the war. you might be thinking who invented this anzac biscuits?... well no one I guess because it was based off the scottish. this scottish recipe called oat cakes they are anzac biscuits but with more rolled oats and butter.
